Xhiwar‘s Pulse Rifle Build

So at some point I had the stock and barrel vent made from 40x40x3mm steel tube, as the screen-used ones were. I used the fantastic plans by Stefan Otto aka Bugstomper.

The raw steel parts were awesome, but the stock was a very tight fit over the upper receiver, I ...

Not quite done yet, but getting there.
Once again, my 3D printer proves invaluable, I printed a template so that I could push the hanger against the sander at the right angle and protect the rest of the hanger. Worked like a charm. Will sand the last part with the Dremel, but it takes ages since the ...

So one of the first parts after the Smartgun and the Kawasaki hangers I managed to source was the Kawasaki switch with the red button. It's actually pretty easy to find. However, unlike others, I was never so lucky as to find a "new old stock" version. Normally, most of the white writing is gone ...

Aliens Legacy Forum V.2

I love the new forum, and in the spirit of improvement, this is a list of things I noticed while posting my build threads:

- The search function is a bit useless. When I search for "Smartgun" or "Pulse Rifle", it says:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too ...

So one important question is: did they drill through the MG42 receiver or not? It may look obvious that the Kawasaki struts are attached directly to the receiver, but the image of the MG42 prior to restoration doesn't seem to show any additional holes drilled into it.

Also, since the GMG42 was ...

I saw that Sidewinder had made a great muzzle for the Smartgun and had him make one for me. Unfortunately, I was stupid when trying to use a special finish on it and I pretty much broke it... :-(

Since I had to revise my muzzle anyways and also found a local CNC place, I had them machine a ...

Xhiwar‘s Pulse Rifle Build

Around that time, the APS CAM870 shell ejecting shotgun became available. I had to get one. If only the bolt wasn't so ugly, it seems to be modelled after some sort of competition bolt with milled out slots. But I managed to snag a replacement bolt made from stainless steel, which looks much better ...

So the next step was getting the real parts for the Smartgun. It wasn't easy, but I managed to get a set of Kawasaki AR125 footrests.

I was about ready to prime them for painting until I figured out that I'll need to modify them first. It was pretty easy to figure out what needed to be chopped off ...

So my build actually starts with a holiday in Italy, a few too many beers one evening and a $100 voucher from an airsoft store near my hometown in Switzerland. Modifying real steel firearms in Switzerland is a legal hassle, and there are no "deactivated" guns since these are legally treated as real ...
