Aliens Legacy Forum V.2

Greetings all,
As we transition to the new board from the old one, I thought I would go over some of the newer options of the forum.
1. Events. One can make events through the forum. The days of us making a thread and then the poster having to update the list as people join, hopefully are over. I am looking to see if there is another calendar option, where it could merge the event and a topic in a forum together, that way you are not having to check back and forth for information.
2. Chat. The chat function is back. If you want to chat, click on the mChat button on the top of the forum. Please keep chats civil and kid friendly. Rules for posting on the forum will apply to the chat.
3. Ability to share posts via social media. If you look at a first post in a new topic, you will see options to share post via facebook, twitter, or reddit. As more versions come out, I assume more social media platforms will be added.
4. Flair. Not a Office Space reference, but options for things like forum accomplishments. I have set them up for if you collect costumes (colonial marine, xenomorph, or Weyland-Yutani employee) with the idea of adding more as more people join. There could also be options for people who are prop makers or collectors.
5. Media embedding. Media players such as YouTube can be embedded in posts, which is more cosmetic than functional, but I feel it makes posts better looking than links to media sites.
6. Ability to add more details, like the Division or battalion you belong to, if you belong to those. I also have the ability to make groups within the forum, as some of you see your Usernames are different colors depending on where you belong. That could be used in the future for emailing certain groups with group specific information, or events.
7. Forum styles. Right now, we have 3 styles you can choose from. The green and black default, the phpbb default prosilver, or the 1970's sci fi themed style simply named, 1978. Feel free to change your style as it pleases your view pleasure. To change styles, go to your user control panel and you can change your style there. Also, you can change if you want your avatar or the right or left side of your posts. (old forum had that information on the left side)
With v.2 up and running, my goal is to make the forum better and more personalized as we get back to using it. There are extensions that I am looking at to make the forum and user profiles more customized, including custom icons that were part of the old forum. Any suggestions for new sub-forums or how to make v.2 better are welcomed!
As with the last forum, The Aliens Legacy will NEVER have ads or ask for donations. This is something that belongs to our members and not a single person or entity.
